Translated from the Spanish by Brian Evenson and Trenton Hickman
This was my first long translation, consisting of 22 poems (with originals and translations on facing pages) by the Venezuelan poet Rafael Cadenas, member of the Tabla Redonda literary group and winner of a 1992 Perez Bonadle International Poetry Prize.
It was co-translated with poet Trent Hickman, who also wrote the introduction. It is still the only translation of Cadenas' work into English.
Extremely rare. Originally planned for an edition of 200, less than 50 saddlestapled copies were printed, on fine paper with marbled endpapers. Cover art is by Masha Cottrell.
